The Bon Secours Charism speaks of the gifts of compassion, healing and liberation.
Come and explore with us through poetry, art, music and sharing the specific gift of compassion as experienced and lived through the eyes of Bon Secours: being with others in their time of need; the gift of compassion as witnessed and expressed through "good help" given and received.
Sr. Rose Marie Jasinski CBS is a registered nurse, with a deep connection to home care and hospice. She also has a Master's in Spirituality from Crieghton University.
Sr. Rose Marie served for several years in a leadership role at the Bon Secours Health System. She currently serves as Leader of the Sisters of Bon Secours in the US and as vice president of the International Congregation of Bon Secours.
Sr. Fran Gorsuch CBS is, at heart, a pastoral minister with experience in adult education, Sr. Fran Gorsuchyouth ministry and most recently as Mission Leader at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, New York.
Sr. Fran has an M. Div from Duke Divinity School and plans to use her pastoral background and health care experience in her new role in developing community partnerships at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Come away awhile, let us care for you! If you are a caregiver, often you are considered the pillar of strength in your particular situation. We understand the cost of that strength and the burdens of putting yourself at the service of another: the lack of personal time, and the lost energy for other roles.

Matryoshka dolls are a set of dolls that nest inside each other: tiny ones, then larger and larger all hidden within one another. In some ways that's the way we live and tell our stories-beginning with our own singular story, the tiniest doll and then broadening out to our friends, family, shared work, parish and nation.but there are stories that encompass and hold us all within their embrace and telling.
These are the big stories: The Trinity, The Universe, The Incarnation, The Paschal Mystery, The Spirit in the World, the Spirit in the Church and then all the other smaller stories hidden in those. What would our stories sound like if we started with the great stories instead of our individual ones. Come tell stories, talk spirituality, talk theology.

We are living in a time of amazing personal, spiritual and theological development. In this evening program, we will follow the path set out in "Quest for the Living God: Mapping Frontiers in the Theology of God", by Elizabeth Johnson, CSJ, ask, "Who is God?" and "How does God relate to us and to our world?" We often ask the same
questions ourselves, and often don't come to the clarity of insight and understanding we desire. These sessions will provide an opportunity to explore together the journey we share in our "quest for the living God."
Our sessions will use content from Quest for the Living God as a framework to contemplate the meaning and truths unfolding in our lives.
There will be a blend of presentation; personal prayer and communal reflection; the option for small group faith-sharing and creative activities as well as journal sheets to guide individual reflection.

Experiencing the call of God's love, St. Ignatius of Loyola was impassioned to live his life in radical conformity to the mind and heart of Christ. Led to guide others in responding to this same call, he left a written record, The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, for those who would carry on this ministry. In an atmosphere of silence, and with the assistance of a director, this eight day retreat offers sacred space for an extended prayer experience based on The Spiritual Exercises. Once your registration is submitted, you will receive additional guidelines to help you prepare for this retreat. Prior experience with an extended period of silence and solitude is recommended. Bring a Bible and a notebook/journal.

Care giving is a promise you have made to be there
for your loved one who needs you. More and more
of us are caring with our time, resources and good
intentions for our ill, aging or disabled loved ones.
It is important as a caregiver that we learn our limits
and our needs for care and the resources we require
to properly keep a balance in our care work.
When you are a caregiver - and you are if you provide
assistance to another person so that person
can maintain an independent lifestyle - finding
time to take care of your own "balance"
(physical,
emotional and spiritual) needs is often the most difficult
challenge of all.
Our day is designed to help you achieve the balance
of skills and spiritual resources you need to
care for your loved one and for yourself. Join our
Spiritual Center staff to explore approaches to successful
care giving so you and your loved one continue
to benefit from this beautiful sign of God's
love and continuing care you share with your loved
one.
For Registration call the Center at (410) 442-
1320 or register on-line.

There is an art to growing anything. This is true of our
spirituality. A 'sustainable spirituality' is a lifelong
process requiring attention, intention and
contemplation. It is the wisdom of 'nurturing the good
stuff' and 'uprooting the weedy stuff' ....hat's how a
garden grows! It takes time, insights and often
suggestions from others who have 'been at it awhile.'
We will '‘get down and dirty' with biblical stories, insights from spiritual
writers and the earthiness of our own experiences. You’ll need to bring tender
eyes to see and compassionate hearts for holding the sacredness what’s
growing within! You may not be a 'master gardener' but come share about
the 'flowers and weeds' of your "inner garden" and learn with each other how
'growing in holiness' is what we really are called to cultivate everyday, in
everybody.

Our identity as Christians involves two major components: Our evolving personal relationship with God (our personal faith) and the way we live out that relationship within a community of faith (communal religion). The interplay between personal spirituality and communal religion develops and shifts throughout our lives and is filled with twists and turns, joys and tensions. Among the many themes we explore are: how does the process of Christian identity develop through the life process; understanding the lifelong process of conversion: embracing the rhythms and patterns of spiritual growth; understanding how to grow a mature spirituality and religious life with integrity. Spend a weekend with author and master of religious education and faith development, Tom Zanzig, learning how to build on what we have used in the past and to open new pathways for those among us who need to hear and grow into the Good News of God’s love.
Special rates are available for groups of catechists and religious educators from a parish. Call the Center for information.
